If I download a new map, will it automatically put it on my 4G SD card if the internal memory card is full? What happens to my POI's that are on the internal memory card? Do I have to transfer them to my SD card, or do I get some with the new map? What do i do with the old map that is on my internal memory card. can I delete it or what? Thanks!

Internal memory is not a card, it is simply internal flash memory.

When you first connect the unit to Home, Home asks what memory location you want, internal or external (sd) card. The location you select is where the installation of whatever you download is attempted.

Before any updating, make a complete backup of your unit's contents using Explorer, not Home. Ensure hidden folders/files are showing.

If you have stuff on a card, then you'll make two different backups: one for internal contents to one folder on your pc and a second backup of the sd card.

So, if you want the new map to go on the card, select the card in Home when you first start. The installation will then go on the card, and overwriting the old map's folder contents. Your custom poi's should still be there in the map folder after the update is completed but, if not, simply copy them back from your backed up map.

i don't have anything on my SD card at the moment. What happens to the map that is internal memory after I put the updated map on my SD card?

It would remain there. I'm not sure why you'd want to do that, though......

If the idea of the sd card is to have the map on it to free up space on internal, then just copy the (old) map from internal to the computer first and then delete the map folder from internal.

After putting the updated map on the sd card, you will likely have to copy back your custom .ov2 files from your (now on computer) backed up old map to the new map using Explorer.
