Have 2010 Renault Koleos with in-dash TomTom unit with SD card.
TomTom Home calls this a "Carminat".

I installed the latest update today.

Since update the device will not start!
It seems to be in an endless boot loop.
on startup it shows the hour-glass, then a blank screen, then a picture of the unit on yellow background with hour-glass in the display, then blank, then repeats the same sequence.
About 15-20 seconds each element.

Tried restoring from month-old backup, still not working.

Tried manually copying old image, still not working.

Tried both methods with a clean SD card, still the endless loop.

HELP PLEASE!

Solved, with phone support help.
Had to re-format the SD card, go through several steps between car & computer, re-install maps etc.
Now to reinstate all my favourites....

Are you able to assist me? I have exactly the same problem? Thanks in advance.

Done as Joseph in Adelaide said: contact TomTom customer service.
Or look on your computer you need to have a full backup.

Thank-you for your response.

Now sorted! Drove the car for 3+ hours with no card inserted, the firm-wear updated on its’s own eventually (no green screen with Wismo 218/glass timer image), then correctly showed ‘No maps found’. Then inserted original Renault blank SD card so that the pairing with the car head unit could be undertaken, this worked fine.

Following Ton Tom Home software on-line update onto SD card and reinsertion of the card into the car head unit everything is working fine!

Had thought that the car main head unit was bricked, as read on other forums. A sigh of relief here!

Thanks again
