Unable to import POIs to Tomtom Discover Go

I've followed the instructions in the video from the 'Importing & Transferring Favorites and POIs to Your New Device' thread above. I have the .ov2 file in plan.tomtom.com under My Items -> POI files. I can download the ov2 file to the PC and it has all the POIs. I have the TomTom device in sync mode and a route I entered into the device appears on the web interface. However the POIs aren't being transferred to the device. I'm looking in 'My Places' but there's nothing there except recent destinations. What do I need to do to transfer the POIs in the ov2 file to the device?

On GO Discover it is not possible to import personal POIs.

You are following instructions for the previous generation of TomTom models. Those models supported custom POI files. The current generation, most unfortunately, does not.
