UK and Ireland Map Download Problems

For over a week now I have been trying to get a map of Ireland for an upcoming trip. Through TomTom Home I can access the Buy Maps page and proceed with Checkout but invariably I end up with a message "...can't access URL." I called 8664866866 and the CSR said they are unable to get the server operational and if I wanted a map of Ireland then I should go and purchase a competitor's GPS (Garmin etc.) I have had my One since July so not returnable and I certainly don't want a $300 paperweight. Any suggestions?

They actually told you to purchase a competitor GPS?
That is horrible.

Horrible, yes. To the CSR's credit I think that he was frustrated and was truly trying to give good customer service. I told him that my trip to Ireland is next week. Doesn't say much for TomTom company however.
