typical newbe questions

I have a tomtom 330 that I have had for several months and have just begun to use. Have 1 initial problem.

1 is the display. It shows a couple of blocks ahead. I can expand it with the - sign but then it goes right back to the very limited, and basically worthless display. Is there any way to expand the display and then lock it? When driving on the interstate it is useful to be able to look 20 or 30 miles down the highway to see what is coming up.

Soetimes it turns itself on in the vehicle. I keep it plugged in but turned off. I will come out to the vehicle in the morning and it is on when I know for positive it was off when I left the vehicle.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Some models have a preference to turn auto zoom off. Not sure whether than applies to yours or not.

Yeah, heariing again about some units turning on by themelves. Some have found that doing the Clear Route thing at the end of every trip helps.
