Turn distance out by 25-30 metres

All the turn distances on my GO 730 are out by about 25 - 30 metres (75 - 90 feet), the device is telling me I have this distance to go before the turn. In a downtown setting some streets are less than this apart and I keep missing the street I need to turn. Is there a way of calibrating the device?

I have had no success with TomTom and I have sent a message to TeleAtlas with no response.

Street name signage here in Toronto is poor to say to least and is often hidden from a drivers view, so knowing the street name is often not an advantage.

I have the latest firmware (8.351), and North America 2Gb (855)

If you're driving in an urban canyon of tall buildings, 90' may actually be the best accuracy the GPS chip is able to produce. I've had some really tough experiences geocaching with devices somewhat more accurate than a TomTom where I find myself wandering all over the place. There are some downtown areas where you may be lucky to get a lock at all. What little view of the sky you get is complicated by reflections off all of the nearby buildings - for the ones you can see, that throws the timing off.

See what your satellite coverage looks like when you are in one of the areas where your problems are at their worst. Tap the satellite bars on the lower right, then the satellite bar on the far right (on the next screen) and see 1) how many blue (not gray) bars you have and 2) how tall they appear to be with respect to their max possible reading.

How many POI files have you got set to "Visible" as this slows the map refresh rate down and can lead to the positional error - Mike
