I recently purchased a TT1 3ed and have used the Garmin 2 years. Love the TT1 interface/options, etc. Unfortunately the maps don't compare with Garmin. Even though the Garmin is 2 years old the maps are more accurate, shows more roads, and the names are correct. Garmin's option to show various levels of detail is great. Also it is nice that when you elect to zoom it will it will keep that setting until you change it vs the TT1 reverts back to default after 10 secs of zooming. The TT1 would be almost perfect if it had those capabilities.
I've seen it mentioned on several threads that you can hack the menu to get add'l options e.g. itinnary planning. How do you modify the menu and what add'l options can you get by doing so? Is there away to get more map detail and to prevent the zoom from changing back to the original level in 10 sec.
I also found that saving current position as a favorite didn't work when doing so in my condo parking lot but worked when I moved 100 yards to the main road. I would have thought that should work anywhere you are.
Bottomline TT1 is worth the money but I do miss the map detail and the fixed zoom levels that Garmin offers.
