TT OneXL, Australia, Maps, Mapshare?

Just traded in my Navman S30 for a TT OneXL, the menu system of the Navman is better, but picking up the sats and driving directions for the TT seems to be quite a bit better.

The main reason I decided to go for a TT was that the maps for the Navman weren't accurate for a few of my favorites, and I figured with the MapShare technology I would be able to fix this on the TT. I tried and tried to install MapShare, to no avail.. So I rang customer service, and they said it's not yet available in Australia, but would be "soon", I tried to get more information as to when "soon" is, apparently no one within the TT organization knows, according to the CSR anyhow..

Am I just going to have to live with this, or was the guy BS'ing me, or what?

Also, does anyone know when updated Australian maps will be released?

Another Frustrated TT User....

In Europe as well as in North America, a user needs version 7x of the navicore software AND a version 7x of the map in question for the mapshare feature (although some European posters claim they can get mapshare updates with version 6.75 of navicore software ... key word is 'some'.

Thank you for your reply.

I've checked out my TT and I'm using version 7.163 of the software (Didn't say Navicore anywhere, but I assume that's what it is referring to).

And the information for my map displays "Map: 'Australia' v705.1485".

So I figure, if it was available, I should be able to use it? What sucks is that I can't even make corrections to my own maps, I would understand if sort of if I wasn't able to receive or send updates.

One other quick question, as far as checking the status of the battery, do you only get a simple battery bar, or is there a way to check the percentage of battery left?
