TT One.......Update....????

I just bought last week, a new TT One, v4. When I plug in via USB on my PC the Home software opens, and I get this "update" window. Since it's new, and a v4, should I do the update...??? How would I know if, and when to update? I know my Map is: 'US_and_Canada' V675.1409
What else would be updated?

You can accept the "Phone database" update at any time without concern.

You can accept the "QuickGPS fix data" update at any time without concern.

The "TomTom Application For ONE" is an upgrade/update for the navigation engine and user interface. It won't hurt to update it, but it may be redundant. Do you know how to check for the currently installed version on your TT1?

Be sure you do a full backup before any upgrade of the application. If you do try the upgrade, and the version is unchanged, you can simply un-tick that item when you do other updates. Watch for a change in the file size in the future. That seems to be the only way to determine if new code is being offered.

Yes, Like I said above, it's a Version 4, and the current map in it is: I know my Map is: 'US_and_Canada' v675.1409

I basicly just use it as a bare bones point A to point B navigator.

From seeing that PIC, do you think I would need to update anything? I just bought it last Monday New at Radio Shack for $199.

The application upgrade you are being offered will give you the new Navcore 7 system. Your 6.75 map-set is ideal for this upgrade!

You can accept everything offered...but DO MAKE A BACKUP FIRST!

Note... If you have installed any third-party add-on functions, they may not work with the new system. However, I think you will appreciate the new system upgrade features.

OK, cool. I just wasn't sure. I guess I'll have to remove all the new voices I added. I'll also have to get a SD card to back up? Now I have to learn how to back it up. Where can I find info on how to back up?

Installing the Navcore 7 update won't effect your voices, at least it didn't effect mine.

You do a backup right on the HOME screen. You don't need an SD card, you can back it up on your computer's hard drive.
