Hi All .

I just got new firmware update today for my TT Via, It appears to fix "Map share" in MyTT ,

and I would be able to remove the OLD map in the device ...

Now I will have to figure out how to transfer the new map from Sd card to device ,,?

(BTW .. LTM is not lifetime any more .. expires in 2017 ..? not that I complain ..!!
willl buy a new GPS by then anyway ...)

If you remove your uSD card (with power off, of course) and connect your unit to your PC, is the 900 map finally offered to you again to replace that weird map that you previously had in internal memory? Or is that one still stuck there?

Well .. That's what I'm thinking too ..will try this weekend .
If anything wrong ..I can put the sd card back in ... hopefully it's OK ..

Have you seen anybody did this from other forums ...?

Since your map subscription resides as an item on their server, it should always be possible to pick up the current version of any map. I don't have great hopes that your internal map will be replaced until someone at TomTom (2nd tier support) specifically schedules a job to remove it, though.

Oh, I 've already removed the old map from the device, I'm running new map from SD card now - like you said, hopefully it will let me install the new map directly to device - will let you all know.

How were you finally able to get the 'odd' map removed from internal? Did you use the newer version of MyTomTom that offered that option, and were successful?

Yes, right after I ran update for my VIA's app V 12.055 " NOT MyTT " , then MyTT shows the option to remove it ..

Will let you know tonight to see if I can install new map without sd card .

Update :

Hey , It worked ... New map is in the device now ...only took 40 mins to install .

Should I format the sd card and leave it in for future use or leave it out ...?

Up to you. Your 'backup' map should always be available for download at TomTom -- one of the few serious advantages to this new system. When you have another use for the card, go ahead and use it for whatever.
