Folks,

This may be a stupid question, but how do customize the TT 540TM XXL startup and shutdown screen? I found instructions at: Create Your Own Content Guide but don't see the file: splashw.bmp for the startup screen for instance. Added it, and still - no startup screen, even though I put it at the proper size for 480 x 272.

Any thoughts on this? Further, I've used the community option to get startup screens, but can't get them to work either, then again, not sure if they are for the wide-screen edition of the TT540TM.

Any assistance to mod the startup and shutdown screen, as well as any other mods to the device would be nice - other than that it works great! Love it!

Welcome to TTF!

Not such a stupid question. Reports that the current application disregards any selection the user makes and reverts to the same screen for shutdown as for startup.

That said, try this........

1. Put the desired image in the root of the unit and name it 'antitheftw.bmp' (no quotes and notice the 'w' in the name)

AND

2. In safety preferences, check 'warn not to leave device in car'.

See if that combo works.......

Also, make sure your desired startup file is named startupw.bmp and placed in the root of the unit as well.
