My TT turns on but the screen is black. I opened my tomtom and found the flex ribbon that connects the screen to the "motherboard is loose and does not stay in the terminal on the motherboard. When I press on the ribbon, the screen turns on. There is a small clip with a tooth at each end. One tooth is cracked. I presume that is why the ribbon does not stay attached. How can I fix this or where can I get get a new flex ribbon clip. Who makes this part? Is there any other way to secure the ribbon?

You can't get replacements or spare parts for it, but I've heard of people who have had success just wedging the ribbon cable into the socket with a small "sausage" of Blu-tac or a couple of small blobs of hot-melt glue.

Good luck!
