Good evening

Hope this is posted in the correct section?

I’ve dropped my truck sat nav and it will switch on but won’t do anything.

I don’t want a new one I’d rather repair the screen and carry on using it.

I live in Lancashire UK, I’ve searched the web but no one local does it and TOM TOM don’t replace screens on this model anymore!

No not really it may come up in a search but I rang two of them and they only do tablets and phones etc, I emailed two but no reply I think they just want your email address? thanks anyway

Hi
Why do you want to change your screen?
What is your problem?

if you are handy you can change it yourself.

The touch screen won’t work!
I will repair it where would I get a new screen from?
Thanks

You'll find them occasionally on eBay. I don't know if this outfit is any good, but as an example for your search:

You don't say if your problem is just that the device doesn't respond to touch or whether there's an issue with the display as well, so the above is the combined pair, which is usually how a DIY replacement is done.

Thanks yes I messaged quite a few on eBay no stock at present, I mentioned the sat nav to my manager and he’s doing through work with a local firm so hopefully all sorted.

The Tomtom TRUCKER 6000 was released in 2014 or 2015 I don't think you will still find spare parts to repair it.

Hi if not repairable I’ll have to update to a newer model.
Just a warning: If you're hoping for a cellular connection as the 6000 provides, you won't want to do that. The 5x00 and 6x00 series were the last of them. Recent models require that you use your phone as the data interface (Bluetooth or Wifi).

Just a warning: If you're hoping for custom POIs as the 6000 provides, you won't be able to do that, either. The 5x00 and 6x00 (and 5x0 and 6x0) series were the last of them to provide that, too. Recent models provide no custom POI support whatsoever.
