If you have v1.5 of HOME, unzip the contents of the downloaded file to your CONTENT folder. You can find the location of the folder under File>Preferences>Advanded tab.

When you launch HOME you should see the tripmaster application as one of the apps to install.

description with screenshots is found on its origin site:

att the bottom.
The lates version is 1.8

Under 2.x, it's under ....\TomTom\HOME\Downloads.

I was able to install it, but I was following the instructions at Le Web Bazaar:

# install Tripmaster on your Tomtom
# run it once, the screen is garbaged
# stop it by clicking in the upper right corner of the screen
# connect your Tomtom to your PC and edit the file /tripmaster/config.txt with Wordpad

I couldn't find a ...\tripmaster\config.txt anywhere on my C: drive. Has the name changed? And there's no "tripmaster" folder either. ???

;) ;) ;) The tripmaster folder is on the TT1 (drive F: for me). It appears when you connect the TT1 to your PC.

Now to see if it works!

Ills of Tripmaster

I installed Tripmaster v1.8a on my TT1 v2 and note the following anomalies:

1) It thinks I'm below sea level
2) It won't let me reset the GMT offset
3) What's the "Reset" for?
4) Why does "Saved Position" keep popping up?
5) Main Menu 3 of 4 now has TWO Guided Tours buttons!
6) It takes a really LONG tome to respond to "clicks"

There are others, I'm sure.

See my signature for information about my TT1.

Thanks.

besides the problems that pikov has with tripmaster 1.8, it also makes my unit reboot. it worked only a little better under the 7.12 app. i think that was the correct version, but not at all for me under 7.131. as far as the altitude went under the previous tt1 operating sytem, i could be sitting still and it would show my altitude increasing or decreasing. finally just took it off to save room on the sd card.

What's the proper way to uninstall an application?

Can you just hook the TT to your PC, and delete the files?

I see 3 folders: tripmaster, SDKFilecalls, and sdkregistry that appear to have something to do with tripmaster.

Later: went to webazar.org and found this:

Uninstall Tripmaster

If you want to uninstall Tripmaster, proceed as follows directly on your Tomtom :

* remove /tripmaster,
* in /sdkregistry directory, remove all the files beginning by trip,
* if you have anymore of my plugins installed, remove also the /skin directory.

So that's what I will do. Hope the extra "Guided Tours" goes away! :)

PS: It went away!!

Yes just delete those files.
If you have other applications or custom menu in your tomtom that also uses the SDk registry, only delete the tripmaster file and not the folder.

Good luck

Are you suggesting that some other application might use the tripmaster folder??

Does anyone have Tripmaster operating on 7.1 firmware???? It still ticks me off that I have lost the use of it!! TT really needs to reconsider what it has done.

I have Tripmaster running with the new app. However the following problems exist:
1: when trying to setup tripmaster the screen becomes garbled again. Any solutions?
2: still have 2 "guided tours" which does not bother me although, interestingly, when using Home the 4 menus are correct.
Tripmaster is too good a program to lose.

if tripmaster is the only application you installed, then remove those files. Definetly remove the skin files.

:) I didn't mention any "files", just "folders" (unless you're a Unix person).

I removed all the big files in the aforementioned folders. I don't suppose that the remaining small files will have any effect.

Next time, I will copy my J: drive to my PC before I install anything!!

Thanks.

There should be a config.txt file in your tripmaster folder on the device. If there, isnt, you have to create one. then, put in the line "screenadaptation rider2". Otherwise, if you have the config.txt, replace the line "screenadaptation" to the one i stated earlier. once you do, the program will fill in the rest of the config file when you open the tripmaster software. Just make sure to reboot the tomtom before you start the program again after you edit the config.txt. If the screen still gets garbled when in settings menus, try doing the menu changes in the config.txt file instead of through the software.

Hope that helps
