I have a TTONE V1 and made the mistake of putting tripmaster 1.8a on it and now I get the garbaled screen everyone is talking about. I have read the fix and it says to go and edit a file. My question is , where do you go to do this. I connect to my PC and TTHome comes up. Now what do I do? I don't see anywhere to edit anything.

Thanks, Steve

Close Tom Tom home, but leave your TT connected. You can then browse using windows explorer and find the file you need to edit. But make sure you've backed up your device first. Hopefully you did this before loading TripMaster.

Once you've dont your edits, you can restart HOME software and then disconnect normally. Then I think you need to turn off your TT and restart it.

I don't have my TT with me right now to check, but I think the file you are looking for is in the Tripmaster directory (or folder if you prefer) and is called config.txt. If you doubble click on the file, chances are that your computer will open that file with it's system default text editor, and you can modify the file with that (just make sure you save it as a .txt file when you are done). Tripmaster is a nice program, and is worth the trouble of making it work on your TT !! Good luck, and have fun!

Ok I see my problem. When I plug my ONE in, the home program opens up and my WEBSHOTS program opens up because its reading the pictures on the ONE. I can see the files in the WEBSHOTS program, but if you click on the sdkreg file, it just shows the picture from tripmaster whic makes sense because its a photo program. So my question is, how do I make the computer see the ONE when I plug it in to the USB with a program that will work for what I need to do?

It kinda depends on what operating system your computer is using. On all windows platforms after Win98 (I think), if you move the mouse over the file in question and "right click" a drop down window will pop up and I think about 1/2 way down the list is an option to "open with". When you select that option it will offer some program options, hopefully one of those will be a text editor. If not you will have to direct it to your word processor (full path as I recall). Hope that helps! Good luck :)

wordpad, notepad, any basic old word processing program will open and allow you to edit the config.txt. When the tomtom is plugged into the computer, it should show up as just another drive.

Ok, this is getting aggravating now. I did get to where I needed to be. I went to configtxt, opened it with wordpad, then I changed "screenadaptation none" to " screenadaptation rider2" just like it says. I saved the changes, and I still have the same mess of a screen. I went back into the exact same file again, and now screenadaptaion isn't there at all!! Any ideas before the 10 pound sledge hammer comes out ?
