TRaffic via RDS and Phone

I have a 720T which comes with the strange Ariel and offers the radio traffic facility. For whatever reason I subscribed to the TomTom traffic system as well. What happens if you have both enabled, does it scan the radio waves and take updates from the mobile phone? Or does it rely on one in which case which one?

If the antenna is plugged in to the unit, that is what you will get, you can not as far as i know receive both at the same time.
