ton tom one 3rd map desires!

Just bought a tom tom one, third edition. I love the mapping, however, when coming to cross-street, it show county routes as opposed to the road name until you turn onto that particular road. I really need the map to display the road names as opposed to the county route mumbers. Does anyone know a way to resolve my issue? PLEASE!!!!

I don't have my unit in front of me but there IS a preference setting on the second or third screen (as I remember) for changes to displays and one option is for how road signs should be displayed.
