On what Operating System is TomTom based (Linux/Windows CE/Windows Mobile/ ...)?
Thank you!
Linux is not QUITE orgasmic!!
2. It "matters" in the sense that TomTom (and others) discuss active browsing and manipulation of the device folders and files e.g. map overlays and custom screens. Knowing whose backyard I'm in allows me to avoid tripping over any traps for unwary players such as file-naming conventions and possible issues with text files.
So long as you stick with Home, that's true. Start fiddling on your own, however, and you quickly realize it's Linux under the hood when things start getting case sensitive.Well for file-naming conventions etc, Tom Tom seem to have taken care to make them as transparent to the user as possible.
1. It matters to me - I don't know much about Linux.Well for file-naming conventions etc, Tom Tom seem to have taken care to make them as transparent to the user as possible. So I still am not able to see this as a problem when the device is running Linux.

Even Windows as such seems to be not too reliant on file name extensions as it used to be in the MS-DOS days - so....?
When you operate/manage YOUR device your comfort and confidence are paramount - and I respect that. Perhaps you could accord me the same respect!
