TomTom XXL 535 T Problem

We just bought our TomTom XXL 535 T and we're not happy with it. We tested it out and have decided to return it. Our old 6 year old Garmin works better.

We would like to know how to delete our Home Address on the unit before we take it back to the store. Does anyone know how to do this?

Sure.

With the TomTom connected to your computer, use Window Explore to view the drive where your TomTom is connected (on my PC it's either 'F' or 'G' drive). Then find the map folder (something like "North America P") and delete the file, "mapsettings.cfg". Don't worry, when you reboot the TT it will make another config file and think your device is in New York.

Another way using the unit is to Restore to Factory Defaults. Essentially, it wipes out its own existing mapsettings.cfg file where home address, recent destinations, favourites and custom settings are kept.
