TomTom XL [No Update]

Hi all,

As you can probably tell, I am new here, so I apologise if this is a simple fix.

I installed TomTom HOME earlier today in hope of updating my TomTom XL, which I believe is a 30 Series / 330.

Issue is, when it looks for new updates I get this message:

Error during scanning for navigation items HomeBase /IO: Error reading file: E:\voices \data162.chk @.\portable\cfile.cpp(2013) 00000570

I then attempt to back my TomTom up, and I receive this error message:

ERROR: DesktopLib/FileCopy/Error: An error occurred. Unable to create the files required to copy this item to your computer.
@ .\controller\FileCopyThread.cpp(137)

Any ideas? I was hoping to get my TomTom up-to-date ASAP as I've noticed quite a lot of the streets out drastically out of date!

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thank you for replying.

When I come to pasting the file from my device to a folder in C:, I keep getting this pop up:

Cannot copy file: cannot read from the source file or disk.
.

So in effect, it won't allow me to paste the files over. :(

It looks like one file is bad on your Tomtom drive.

Try running:
chkdsk e: /r

It will attempt to repair the Tomtom drive.

Then see if you can back it up.

Hi,

Using chkdsk e: /r

Thanks.
