hi guys
i am in the uk and have bought the new tomtom xl iq i set up and downloaded the latest maps etc and downloaded the speed alerts now my prob on tomtom home menu i can see that i have 1 set of speed alerts and enabled the sound bugle to alert within 15 secs etc but i cant see the pois on the maps even if i route passed known cams so my question is where are they and will they work as i go passed the speed cams on my old tomtom using gpsworld alerts they where always on the map also can i use gpsworld alerts even though tomtom alerts are loaded thanks in advance

May I ask why you aren't continuing to use the speed camera files from gpsworld? I know that they are superior to those offered by TomTom and suggest anyone who is UK based to subscribe to them. I know I would if I drove there, no question.

sorry i forgot to mention my gpsworld cams are saved from my old tomtom one about 2 years old and if tomtom ones are free i thought i would give it a go but if not i will update gpsworld and use it if i leave tomtom alerts on will it clash with gpsworld or should i remove tomtom ones ta for reply

I know the mods over at gpsworld suggest you actually DO keep both sets running side by side for a couple of weeks just to prove to yourself (if that is necessary) how poor TomTom's are in comparison. Then just remove TomTom's.

I'm sure you guys over there have the same expression as we do ...."You get what you pay for"
