tomtom xl how to auto switch on ?

is there a way as I am stumped..

I am not very familiar with the XL model but usually the devices power up onc an external power supply is connected, as with the cigarette lighter in your car.

Power up up with the USB from the PC, then pull the USB. The device should tell you that it will go to sleep in 10 seconds. Let it. When you now plug in the cord again it should switch on by itself.
(All based on the battery not being flat.)

I have several of these models. Neither has an auto switch on. You will need to use the power button.
