Tomtom XL 335SE Strange things I have noticed about the unit

Ok I just bought my tomtom from walmart and got everything installed on my computer the box says that the unit is a XL335SE but if you go to the tomtom website and put in the first 2 letters of the serial number under ( which tomtom device do I have ) http://us.support.tomtom.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9521/

it tells me I have a XL350. then when looking at the reset instructions to do a soft reset the body of my unit matches the reset instructions for the XL350 and not the 335 instructions my model number is 4ET03 ( 4ET0.002.03 ) and serial number is GJ1400B03108 I am wonder if these are regular anomilies of this unit....?

I take it that nobody finds this strange that the body style and serial # match a XL350 even though it is labled a XL335

Not especially - the models are similar enough that it doesn't surprise me that they're grouped together. Both incorporate the dumbed-down EasyMenu system, and the rest of the features are pretty well indistinguishable as well. These models are just about impossible to tell apart except for the traffic and map options:
