Tomtom web map store empty in Americas

Strange - just noticed that the America section of the Tomtom web map store is nearly empty. It only has Brazil.

Beats when you set it to Canada and see that the the store is 'temporarily' down....

which it has been for TWO YEARS!!!

The map store is a bit of a mess at the moment, from the UK you cannot purchase new maps for the One/ XL devices or the Go Classic or the Go-x00 - I did e-mail TT about this issue only yetserday, perhaps the end of the current map sale is about to happen or the release of new maps might be just around the corner so they are messing around with the map store - Mike

It would be early if they're releasing maps in July. My bet is on the summer sale ending.

But perhaps Teleatlas integration is improving and Tomtom maps are speeding up. The 2009.06 map has been available for a month now.

Yup, I bought my TT in July of 07 and the map store has not been open a single day. They must have a TON of people working on it .........................NOT.

Now another development in the US map store. There are no longer ANY maps for sale.

Everything now points to a "Buy your map in HOME" link that opens up the HOME map purchase screen.

I guess that's part of their cost-cutting program - no need to hire a Tomtom web map store developer each quarter with HOME handling all the work.

On the down-side - Now I can no longer see what maps are being sold for what devices.

Web map store is back to normal now - go figure...
