TomTom start 50 with lifetime maps

I have been offered one of these by a friend. All he has managed to send me is the serial number. Its still in its box but he never got away with it and cant remember how old it is only that it has lifetime maps. Or at least it did have.

Is it worth him sending it to me and will it update? Serial number starts with VJ so I think its a NAV4.

Yes, the VJ will be a Start 50, and yes, what we call a "Nav4". IIRC, it was originally released about mid-2014.

Maps are lifetime, should be available for 45 Euro countries. Speed cams are an extra cost service.
