Tomtom software update

The latest software update for my Go 740 live has made my sat nav very slow. For example, it takes ages to replan a route, and to clear a route takes about 6 seconds to get to the yes or no screen, whereas before both these items happened almost instantly. Has anyone else experienced this?

Only once, and that was immediately after the change to the firmware to 9.058. After a minute or two of use, things got back to normal. Some have suggested that the mapsettings.cfg file confuses things. If you don't have a lot invested in favorites or other settings of that sort, you could copy your current mapsettings.cfg file (found in you map folder) to your PC, then delete it off of your 740, and let the 740 build a 'fresh' one to see if that has any impact on things. If not, you can always copy the mapsettings.cfg file back from your PC, and then you might want to consider backing up a version of firmware to see how that works for you.

Unfortunately deleting mapsettings.cfg made no difference, I have re-installed 9.054 but I still have a slow responding device. Thanks anyway for your answer. Paul

What firmware level were you running before things slowed down? 9.054? Or something earlier than that?

I was running 9.054 before the present 9.058
