I am interested it getting a GPS for my motorcycle and have been looking at the Rider 2. I would like to have a GPS with a 4.3" screen and would like to know if anyone from Tomtom, who reads these posts, would know if a 4.3" version is going to be released soon?

I also use Collett helmet speaker system and do any of the other riders have this system paired to the rider 2?

Buy a Garmin

All I can say is, If you are in the USA I hope you have better luck than me. The Rider V2 that I have used will get you lost. My riding buddys have fun ribbing me about getting lost with a GPS but this must be made to work in the UK since that is the only place you can get accessories for a Rider V2. I would recomend before you spend that kind of money to do a little research and see what kind of support and see if you can get a cradle or a motorcycle mount for one or anything for it.

Rider 2 Maps

This past week I spent some time using a 740 with the new maos in a future Shop Store. In my area there has been a large section of new 4 lane highway built within the last two years and it has not been on any of the GPS maps. The version in the store had the new section of highway installed and it worked very well. I think I read in another thread that the Rider 2 used a different map. Is this true or do all TT GPS's use the same map?

No. All maps may have the same number (such as 835) but there are different maps for different units. Some have more detail than others --including the size of built in poi data.

I will just say that for a motorcycle you don't have to have a Rider2, I use a TT OneXL and it works just fine for getting where I want to go, I don't use the Bluetooth so don't have any experience with having the audio in my helmet (mine doesn't have that) so I just look at the screen now and then and so far that works, maybe will upgrade one of these days, but if I turn the sound way up I can hear ok when not riding over 60mph.........so another model of TT may work just fine.........my opinnion

I have nothing but positive comments regarding my R2. It has been on my bike for the past 2 summers, and bin used for over 60,000km without missing a beat.

I have it paired to the ScalaRider Q2 multi set, operating a Blackberry 8230 and it functions very well. I suspect (but cant guarentee) that it will pair to the Collett system.

Perhaps you can call/email Collett and ask them. Their factory is actually only an hr. away from me. I do see they are selling a new more compact communictor called the "Cricket".

Cheers
