I Think i have downloaded the Usa maps to my TomTom ready for my holiday,
How do i check as my device works as normal with my uk maps but need to know if everything is ok with my Usa maps.

Or will it be a case of waiting till a arrive in the Usa and my device picks up the signal for there.

I downloaded maps for Australia on my ONE. I had to wait 'till I got to OZ to check that it worked - it did.

Hello and welcome to TTF!

You should be able to check if the USA map works from your location by first changing to the USA map, then change your GPS's Home location to somewhere in the USA, then plan a trip from Home to a destination.

Your GPS won't have to wait to get to the USA to pick up the sat signals. It should work just fine from where you are!

I agree with alfie67. Just go to settings and change the map. You will see it switch to it without signal. That will assure that on your trip over the pond, it will work.

Erm... Only if you use "Advance planning" to create the route. The ordinary "Navigate to..." WON'T work without a satellite lock and it won't get that if you are switched to the wrong map.
