I have a tomtom one with sd card. Im going to California then Australia I have the OZ sd card and now downloaded to my pc the map for california which I want to copy to another sd card how do I do this?
Also when I get to OZ is it just a case or changing the sd cards.
Thanks in advance

Put the new card into the unit. Use Home to download an application for the card. Install it.

Then in Home: to Add maps-->navigate to Items on My Computer. Should see the map you dl (click 'more info' just to make sure) and select Install.

Then, once installed, make a complete backup of the unit's contents using Explorer, not Home.

Yes, just switch cards when you are in a different country. you want to make sure that applicaton + map US is one one card and application + Oz map is on the other.

I may have misread what the OP was saying. I inferred he does have 1 map on a sd card, another map already dl to the pc and **could** use Home to install on a second card and he was just wondering how to do that.

In fact, if he has the 2nd map on the computer and the application on card 1, he doesn't need Home to either get the application on card 2 or the 2nd map on card 2.

But, maybe I totally misunderstood what was being asked ............

Yes you are right I have the OZ map on card 1 and the California/U.S.A map downloaded from Tomtom maps on my P.C which I want to copy to a second Sd card. So I can use it in USA then when I go to Oz swap it to the OZ sd card

Im now totaly confused

Then follow what I said in my first reply.......Install the California map using Home on card 2. also install the application on card 2.

On card 1, you have OZ and you need the application on card 1 as well.

Then just switch cards depending upon what country you are in. (Your model requires both application and map on the card)

Ok thanks
Foot note
The OZ card I have in the unit at the moment seems ok cos when i turn it on the OZ maps come up
So I assume the aplilcation is allready installed on the unit?

I would presume so. Take a look at the contents using Explorer. If you see loose files (not in any folder) in the root, that would be the system files.

So the root/system files are the application files you mentioned So if they are there the a[[liction files are allready installed and all i have to do is download the U.S.A map as previousely mentiond?
Sorry to be a pain

That is correct. Make a complete Explorer, not Home, backup prior to any major download, like a map.
