Hi all, need help with this quark in my unit. I would like to extend the number of saved favorites, I am maxed out on this and extend the number of pages of displayed restaurants, I think at the present it will only display 3 pages of my search, but in the past before updates it displayed like 7 or 8 pages of choices.
Is there a tweak or file editing I can do to change this.

The maximum displayed number of favourites with the latest application is 48.

One reason why many people don't use Favourites at all.

You can dowload poi edit from poiedit.com, load your mapsettings.cfg file (found in your map folder) in the program, see all your favourites listed.

Create a custom poi category (like 'My_Favourites') and have poiedit save each item listed as a poi point in the custom category.

Then, load the newly created category in the map folder. You can have 100's listed in the category and add more to them.

You can also copy this custom ov2 file from map update to map update.

Like dhn said, I don't use favorites at all. Well, actually, sometimes I do, but just on a temporary basis, until I get home and add them to my POI files. I use POIfriend.com: Free GPS POI (Point of Interest) Downloads, Maps & Community - Garmin TomTom for adding them. I don't have to worry about losing all my favorites then with an update to my maps, etc.

Also, as stated in other threads, a route can be made to and from a POI that is off the road, but usually can't with a favorite -- another reason for adding your 'favorite' as a POI instead.

crap that didn't take long for a response, sounds good. I'll try it. What about the number of displayed pages, I think I max out at 3 pages, if I am in a very populated area it will show 3 pages a restaurants in a few block area and I won't know what is available farther out, I would like to view several pages like in the past.

It's actually 6 pages at 8 listings per page BUT you can use the Find button to type in part of a name (doesn't even have to be the start of a name) and all items in the category will show, regardless of the distance from you.

Na mine only displays 3 pages and I know about the search from partial names, but I am looking for the unkown, you know that place you have never tried because you didn't know it was there.
