TomTom One v4 - how the hell do I stick it to my screen? :D

So... I put the suction pad thingy to 'unlocked', jammed the thing up against my windescreen, and then set it to locked. And it fell off.

Repeat a million times, then I breathed on it, and repeated, and it fell off, then I licked it like you used to have to do back in the day, and it still fell off.

I figured I must just be dumb, and not know how to use this thing, but three other people tried, and not a single one of us could get it to bloody stick to the screen, then suddenly it did, but I'd got it in such an awful position I had to take it off again, then couldn't get it on.

In the end I just had to rest it on my dash and hold it up when I needed it, not exactly ideal at all :(

What am I doing wrong please? :)

Cheers

Make sure both the suction cup and screen are clean. Then a little 'human glue', meaning 'spit' on the suction cup often helps. Some use a dab of glycerine on the cup. Still others use a little dab of liquid dishwasher detergent. But the first choice works for many.

I suggest that you try sticking it to some other smooth surface like a mirror or tv screen. If it does not work on those then you may have a small pinhole leak in the rubber (plastic) suction cup.

Ahh, thanks dhn - will have to have another go then, using the 'human glue' method you described :p

Human Glue -> Set it to 'unlocked' -> Press firmly against windshield -> Slide to 'locked'

That's it right?

Mirror or TV screen isn't really an option unfortunately spook, thanks for the suggestion though
