when i plug my tomtom one into my mac (10.5.8) it says the the disk is not readable. also when i turn the tomtom on it show the sd card coming out of the tomtom with a red cross on it. does anyone know how to help.

Which tomtom One have you got as there are loads of different types, on the base of the device will be a part number something like 4N01.006 can you post back with the device number - Mike

Could be this:
ONE New Edition, no internal flash, SiRF Star III chip, recognized as ONE v3 when connected to PC -
Number is 4N00.004.2

If so, maybe the sd card is faulty????

If indeed yours is a device where everything is on the card .... including the map .... and you do NOT have a backup, you are out of luck, I'm afraid. (Unless your unit is still under warranty....) You'd have to buy a new map. The other stuff (application, voices, can always be dl for free).

If you did make a backup, then get yourself a new card (no more than 2-gig for that model, I think) and use Finder to restore the backup.

Put the card in to a card reader directly connected to the Mac and see if you can view the files/ folders on the device? it might just need the software reinstalling which can be achieved without using Home - Mike
