I have been reading through the threads but I cannot find any real consensus. I have both of these, unopened, at home (similar prices). Both have a restocking fee so I do not want to open them unnecessarily. What are the advantages and disadvantages of each one? I seem to remember reading somewhere that the LE has more outdated info?? Any input is appreciated! Thanks!!

Realize that I'm a GPS newbie myself, but what I've gathered from reading is:

The LE has Bluetooth (for data not calls) the 3rd Ed. does not.
The LE has an expansion SD Card slot, the 3rd Ed. does not.
The LE has the full version NavCore software, the 3rd Ed. has the "Lite" version of said software and lacks Itinerary planning and waypoints.

Don't take this 100% unless someone else confirms my thoughts but those are the major differences that I remember reading about.

Which ever one you keep, make sure you have Map version 710. If not call support within 30 days of purchase and get them to upgrade it for you at no cost.

I had both and used both. I strongly suggest the 'LE' version.

If not for the SD slot, I would recommend it because it's software menu system is MUCH more all-inclusive than the 3rd edition. Itinerary Planning and POI Edits are two of the icons missing on the 3rd edition.
