this is my first gps ever, and i need help according from the specs it said i dont need to buy an sd card since the tomtom one le already have an internal 1gb memory. But everytime i thought i added a map into the gps, it kept on saying on the touch screen "no maps found" or w/e...
can anyone help me with my problems?
im new to this gps thing

do you have an SD card installed? If so remove it and reboot.

The TomTom will use either the internal memory or the SD card, it cant use both at the same time.

no i dont have an sd card...
and for some reason its not installing maps on my tomtom, even though the 2 map files are in the tomtom

Not sure if this will help but when i first got my Tomtom and updated it with Tomtom Hom, after what i thought would have been all the Updates My unit would turn on and say no maps found. I did this several times and had the Same Results. I then Connected back to the Computer and Tomtom Home still found Updates. After applying those updates Everything Worked Fine.
My guess would Be that Having the Updated Map with A older Version Operating system (or something else) does not enable it to finder newer maps then the ones its looking for.
Just a guess but mine did the same thing , but then worked after more updates. Give it a try , Hope it works for You.

i have xp home right now, but ill try installing the tomtom home on my vista laptop to see if the results are different...
thanks

i had this happen. i just got a Tomtom 1 LE. get it home turn it on and says no maps installed.

so i hook it up to my computer and it only has maps you need to buy.

one of the papers said go to tomtom.co/latestmap and it says to use the software and use always use latest map

then it downloads USA,canada and guam. then it worked fine for me.
