Ok so tell me if im wrong but i heard spoken street name mattered on the map that you had on your gps. So I picked up a TT1 LE. It has the 1g built in mem and I want to use an additional 2g sd card. How do i go about setting up to SD card to run and use spoken street name?

I'm afraid you've chosen a unit not designed for spoken street names.

The only ONE models that do support text-to-speech natively are the XL-S, ONE 125, 125SE and 130S, and the 140S.

My guess is that both the firmware and Home will recognize the unit type, and never provide you with the requisite "Computer Voice" no matter whether you add a 1GB or 2GB SD card or not.

OK, snow i Need help with other things. I purchased this unit from ebay and I have been having problems already. Seems to Nav fine, however if I attempt to back up the unit, update it, or even add a new voice it gives me errors about being able to create the files. Thats the first problem.

Problem 2 is that I want to put in a 2g sd card in this bad boy but it seems that the unit runs off of one or the other memory and not both combined. Fine i can handle that. But how do i install everything required to run the tomtom on my sd card?

Possibly your internal memory is going bad. Connect to a computer and run a chkdsk /r on the drive.

Connect the Tomtom to your computer, stick the memory card in a separate card reader, and copy every from the Tomtom to the memory card. Once done, turn off the Tomtom, put the memory card in it, and it should be good to go.
