Tomtom ONE indications

Hi !

I just got a Tomtom One and I already have a problem with it Actually, when I use it to go somewhere, I don't see a MAP with a blue arrow like all the Tomtoms, I just see the indications with no map (big white arrow that shows where to turn) How can I get the original display ?

If you hadn't said that you were getting turn indications of some sort, I'd say you bought a used ONE that has maps for a different part of the world on it, or (ahem) maps that don't belong on the unit at any rate. How did you come by this unit?

Just curious - press the satellite bars on the lower right. Press the "version" box. That should bring up versions for all on your unit. Please advise what firmware and map version you have.

Change Preferences/ Safety Preferences and change the "Hide Map above a certain speed" to something like 85MPH, I bet you find its been set to zero, I have mostly seen this arrow mode used by Taxi drivers - Mike

Having never tried this (never wanted this to happen on my units), I had no idea that it didn't just blank the entire display! Another lesson learned.

White Screen

I have a used TT1 (4N00.005 N14644). Sometimes it works perfect, and other times it white screens and I have to off/on several times before I get the thing to function correctly. Is there a repair for this? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to TTF.

There isn't a model with that reference but if you go here and enter the first 2 characters of your serial number (found on the bottom) it'll show the identity that TT gives the unit.

That said, have you tried uninstalling the application and re-installing?

Thank you ... It says it's a One 2nd Edition ...

Well, make an Explorer, not Home, backup of your unit's contents. If not sure how, see here

Then delete all the loose files in the root of the unit, NO folders or their contents. Connect to Home and you'll be offered an application. Install and disconnect properly from Home using the Device Disconnect icon.

See if the behaviour is better.
