How is one supposed to download the updated map from TomTom One Home
when the map is 878 MB large?
I have dial up on a country line and that file is LARGER THAN A CD can hold...
Even if I had DSL, 878 MB would probably take forever!
So, I wanted to ask if anyone has somehow gotten an "update" from TomTom Inc.
w/o downloading via dial up?
I am currently dealing with Customer Service - I will update this thread if and
when something is worked out.
Why cannot they make TomTom Home work with an encrypted DVD such that
the DVD is useless to anyone except the person with the correct "Code" for
his/her own TomTom ?
That would NOT be difficult to design!
That way, you order (pay shipping & Handling) a map update within the 12
month limit, put it in your DVD Rom and TomTom Home interacts with the DVD and
replaces your outdated map in your TomTom One 3rd Ed.
It could be done easily! This method would bypass all the password and Code
business that TomTom has to use now to protect the Map Copyright.
DoctorBill - a TomTom One "newbie" - never had a GPS Nav before 4/7/08...
PS - how do you stop this Forum from forming underlined links that I don't want here!?
