Hi,
This is my last post today. Honest :p When I first used tomtom home it said that I needed an update so that I could connect my mobile phone to it. That sounded great to me. :D

I visited the tomtom website and from what I can see I am not sure if I am able to use my tomtom one with my mobile phone. I have a nokia n95. I presume it makes the connection via bluetooth.

Can anyone please help?

Check your phone compatibility here

Well it doesnt look like my phone is compatible with my tomtom !!!!!!! Dont really understand why, its only bluetooth.

Just clicked the 'compatible tomtom devices', then selected my tomtom one 'new' and there are loads of phones(including nokia) listed. I dont get it. If I could get this working I think I could use the tomtom services. I presume without the RDS transmitter. I think. Can anyone confirm this?

On the tomtom website it says tap the 'mobile phone' on the main menu. I dont have a mobile phone in my main menu. Can someone please tell me why?

I don't know specifically which ONE model the OP has, but from what I can tell on the TomTom web site, none of the ONE series support bluetooth. If that's the case, that would explain why there is no "Mobile Phone" icon on the main menu.

Regarding another question, you can't use a compatible phone as a substitute for the RDS-TMC receiver. You CAN use a compatible phone to get traffic updates using TomTom Traffic, but this is different, and requires a subscription DIFFERENT than the subscription required for the TMC receiver.

I was able to get a free year of TomTom Traffic by calling TomTom and asking for a free trial of TomTom traffic because the TMC receiver didn't get any reception in my area. You could try this also, but there's no guarantee that they would do this for you.

Also, there are many phones that work which aren't listed as "supported". I would imagine that the N95 would work fine. One way to know for sure would be to take your phone to a retail store and pair it with a display model, then try to use the weather service under TomTom Services. Supported phones can be setup quite easily, whereas others may require quite a bit of information because you have to provide a lot of the details manually. It would be best to check sticky in the "tweaks" sub-forum for as many details as you can get regarding your phone model and carrier before heading out to the store to test for yourself.

Bluetooth help

I have a Motorola Krzr 1km and the list shows that the phone is compatable. On the TomTom the BT discovery says no bluetooth phones available, but the phone shows the TomTom One XL as a BT device......what am I doing wrong? The BT is enabled on the TT yet it doesn't "see" my phone.....and therefore will not allow me to use the services. TIA.

Since you didn't say this specifically, I'll suggest that your phone must be "discoverable" when your TomTom is looking for devices. This is sometimes referred to as "find me" mode. How you do this on your phone though, I'm not sure.
