 I am having a problem getting it to route as I wish. I bought this a few months ago as I began working out of town. If you are going somewhere for the first time this is great but after a few trips I have found shorter routes. I am using this now more for company if that makes sense to anyone. I am trying to go from Lake Charles, La to Anderson, AL and vise versa VIA
Interstate 10
Interstate 12
Interstate 55
Natchaz Trace Parkway
Highway 72 and from here it doesn't matter.

When I get on the trace going either way it tells me to turn off for the whole 5 hrs I am on the road. Can someone help me out if there is anything I can do. I am aware this might not be the fastest or even the best route but it is the way I choose. I just wish the commands would go along with what I had planned.
Thanks for any and all help in advance.

What version software does it have? I suggest you use itinerary planning, but if your One has been upgraded to ver 8.010, itinerary planning is gone.

I honestly have no idea what that means but I can tell you I upgraded everything on it I could when I bought it about 1 month ago. So I guess I am out of luck. Seems you could go in the menu somewhere and manualy type in exactly which roads you wanted and it would take you there. Guess that would be too easy.

You probably can't set up your entire route in advance, but what I do is use Alternate Route, then pick a location to pass through on my way. Also called a "via" point. I can usually pick a town or street that will force it to go the way I want for a big chunk. Once I pass that point, I pick another one to force it onto to my desired route, and so on. It's not as tough as it sounds, and I've been really happy with it. Thank goodness TomTom has this feature. I didn't have it on Nuvi, and so most of the time it was so annoying I just turned if off.
