TomTom One 3rd edition internal memory

I have the TomTom One 3rd Edition and it does not come with an SD slot, so I cannot easily increase its memory. I'm wondering if anyone has attempted to upgrade the internal memory. I've tried searching, but maybe I'm using the wrong terms.

Here's a link with photos of someone replacing the internal memory chip to a 2 gig SD card. You have to solder it in.

What is the maximun amount of memory that the TomTom One 3rd Edition can address?

Internal storage is 1 gig.

I understand that the internal memory is 1 GB. The MicroSD mod is a MicroSD holder and therefore holds a microSD card. It is obvious from pictures 6, 7, & 8 that the holder has a 2 GB card in it. My question is, can you put in a 4 GB or an 8 GB card and still have the One read it?

My understanding is that model will not be able to deal with cards of that size. Only the Go models can do so.
