i considering to buy the tomtom one 3rd eddition
question: does it have an SD slot ?
any other suggestions ?

i can buy it for $90 refurbished at BUY.com

Beware, I've heard that some of the refurbished units listed on Buy did not come with the latest map guarantee. I bought a refurbished TT One 3rd from TigerDirect and it did have the map guarantee.

I bought two refurbished TomTom 3rds from Buy.com and TomTom honored the latest map guarantee on both units. One updated successfully through TomTom Home and the other I had to contact customer support. TomTom Home told me that the unit was not eligible for latest map guarantee or had already used it. I contacted TomTom customer service and after verifying my proof of purchase information I was allowed the updated map. Be certain to have your proof of purchase information available.

My guess is one of the units had already updated its maps before it was refurbished the other was updating for the first time.

I originally was concerned about the 3rd not having a SD slot, thinking it would be very limited. But, so far I have added 7 custom voices, 3 custom car icons, a few custom POI's and Tripmaster. I did remove the Guam Map to free up space. But I don't see me driving in Guam any time soon.

TT one 3rd Edition and tripmaster

I had a TT 1 new edition Europe until it was stolen from my truck. I replaced it with a refurbished TT1 3rd ed from buy.com, I too was leary of the missing SD slot but after receiving it and working with it. I found that there is lots of room left on the internal hard drive or memory space (1 GB left not including the map). Now I am trying to get it to be as exact to the one I had before. however I am having trouble getting tripmaster to install. Using tt home to load it on it tells me "item cannot be installed on your device" I know that tripmaster is not support after software version 7. any hints on how to get trip master loaded or a way to get the altitude read out to display on 3rd edition?
