Tomtom ONE 3rd Ed.. ISSUES!

I just got this thing. It appears the only map that is installed is Guam. Problem is when I try to add a map of the USA it wont install due to there not being any space, but I am not sure why. I never put anything on this unit extra. When I try to delete what is on the GPS it won't let me continue to the next phase to delete.

When I go to tomtom home and click on maps it tells me the USA map it tells me this map cannot be downloaded to my device because of content restrictions.

So right now unless I live in Guam this unit it useless to me. I have tried to reset a few times, but that does nothing.

Is this thing defective?

Try this. Go to 'Change preferences' and look for 'Switch maps' (Should be on Page 3 of the preferences. If the USA_Canada map is in the list, select it.

(If instead you see an icon for 'Manage maps', the 'Switch maps' icon will be inside.)

I tried that just now and the only map listed is for Guam. The issue is there is no room for me to download the USA map, and I am unsure why. It has all the factory settings. I have not added anything. I am super frustrated with this thing! Any other ideas of what the problem could be?

I'm sure that if you examine the contents of your unit with Windows Explorer, you will see that the USA_Canada map folder is indeed there. The lack of memory space indicates that too.

Somehow your map is no longer being recognized. You might try what this poster did:

If this doesn't work, you should talk directly to TomTom.

thanks so much for directing me to that link... while that first post did not work a reply to it did. I ended up having to delete the maps from my computer manually. I did it once, but not the way this post said to. And it worked! NOW I have another problem which I may post about if i cant find an answer to while searching the boards. I have NO GPS signal at all. I have another tomtom same one in fact which has no issues and this one has had nothing but problems. They were bought at the same time from Best Buy. I am frustrated but not giving up yet
