Hello, finally bought a TomTom rider. It's a TomTom Canada refurb unit with UK maps. On the navigate to page Home use to work but now it's greyed out. I connected to the TomTom website and used their home software to update the map revs and enable map share. Don't know why Home is now greyed out with my tomtom not connected to anything or on its docker. I load relevent Speed camera POI from Trapster.com and manged POIs to add a sound warning when a poi displays. Not sure the sound alert for the on screen POI is working. Has any one used Trapster on Tom Tom? What help or document file extension does tomtom support eg Acrobat PDF so I can append more guides to the help me? Thanks

Reset your Home location by going to Change Preferences/ Change Home location the device will have lost this location when the map was updated (along with any POI warnings you had set up).

Never used Trapster.

The HelpMe file format is TomTom's own AFAIK, have a look at the files by opening them in WordPad or NotePad, but I don't think its possible to add to the content. Some devices support the .txt files and these can be opened on the device using the document reader if the device supports such a function - Mike

thanks

Thanks home is now working again. How do I find how my device number?. I read on other posts that this is used inconjunction with an activation code for new maps. I want to add France. My TomTom didn't come with any paperwork. Just a CDrom and UK ROI maps preinstalled. On the back is the model label with Canadian FCC compliance and a tiny barcode with numbers I can't read. Is the device code buried in a menu somewhere?

Tap the sat strength meter lower right followed by the version box, the resultant screen will offer you lots of information about the device including the device code although I wouldn't have thought that would be needed for the maps as the Home software handles all map activation and knows the device code from the unit plugged in - Mike
