TomTom Maps

Not 100% sure, but it seems so. Or else maybe they have not upgraded if they have older models. I hear they need to pay to upgrade. Which is something I am starting to prepare myself down the road.

On our side of the pond there appears to be two map versions USA and Canada and the North American version. recently there have been regional USA maps added to the list.

The USA/canada and regional maps would work in any unit as they are small enough to fit on one gig internal memory of some tomtoms. the north american versions work only if you have a 2g SD card in your unit as the maps need the extra space.

all maps have had various versions such as 665....675...etc. the current latest version appears to be 7.10.

from my experience the maps with the most detail are the north american versions....more roads and POI's. the stripped down USA Canada versions in my area have far less detail and roads and subdivisions.

Of course that doesn't mean the 710 versions have all roads...indeed they do not.
