TomTom Issues

So I've had my TomTom ONE V.2 for approx 8-10 months now, and have run into quite a few issues:

-Maps cost as much as a new unit on eBay ($210 USD for the full USA map)
-The damn thing has lead me to the wrong place 3 or 4 times
-POS won't bond with my Tmobile Wing via bluetooth
-Traffic updates aren't available in the USA? WTF?
-In order to make map corrections, I have to pay for new maps? What the heck?
-No offroad options
-Horrible battery life

Anyone know anyways to get free maps, or make corrections without paying that much?

And they say tomtom is the best if they where the best they would respect the people that have there units. My tomtom is a beer coster now. Maybe the people at tomtom should try to redeam themself ya right fat chance:mad:

The USA map is on the TomTom UK website for around $140. The eBay seller must be a scammer.

Don't expect free maps. All GPS brands make a lot of their money off the sale of maps. If you buy this year's Rand-McNally road atlas, don't expect them to give you future copies for free.

Are you sure that is the 'damn' thing, or 'operator' error:D ? Watch out for 'E', 'W', streets that span several cities (yes, thank for some genius that invent 'megacities', that screw up not only GPS but Postal services, well established businesses ... and our tax dollars).

-No offroad options

No car GPS work offroad, if they do, they do badly.
You canstall Offroad Navigator from Roussillat.

-Horrible battery life

Who cares if it's plugged in the cigarette lighter.

If they do, they wouldn't tell you here.:D

I wouldn't waste any time or money on new maps...I did and the new and latest is no better than the version that came with my unit. my subdivision and others nearby are still not in my maps...I've lived here for 22 years and the subdivision has been in existence longer than that. door to door navigation as they claim is just not true!

my molassis slow old garmin has all of the above and it's almost ten years old!

tomtom has a lot of catching up to do.

purchased my unit on a recent trip to the US because it included "door to door" navigation including Canada. It did get me through all the highway navigation on that trip, but POI's were often non existant and even more often out anywhere from a couple hundred yards to a kilometer or more.

on my crossing back into the Canadian Maritimes, I found problems with navigation on roads that have been open for 15 years or more. It did have new sections of the trans-canada in New Brunswick newer than my garmin maps, but overall the old garmin maps beat the newest tomtom ones by far!

I like the speed and user friendlyness of the unit, but the maps....bummer!
