I bought a used TomTom "GO5200" navigation and it has maps that I can update via Wi-Fi, traffic monitoring is active, danger zones are also active. I want to ask if I can continue to use it without any problems even though in the account field there is an email of the previous owner who I don't know at all. Can I delete his account even though I don't have his password and if I do that will I lose the maps and will I be able to continue updating them for free via Wi-Fi or via My Drive? Any advice would be useful.

To remove the previous owner's email address, you must
reset the device to factory settings, then if you already have a TomTom account, you must link the GPS to that account.

The maps and traffic are associated with the device's serial number, not the account, so you won't lose anything.
 
Thank you very much for your quick response. I have a TomTom Drive account, do I need to enter that same account into my GPS device and what will I gain or lose if I enter my own account into the GPS device? Can I use the device without my account, will I be missing something? In the current state as it is now, it does not register my device when I try to connect to My Drive.

You must register your email address with your MyDrive account.
If you don't, you won't be able to save your favorites, routes, and personal POIs.
