Hi, hopefully someone in the forum can help.

Under settings in the menu, I have a (1) against Map and Display, under downloaded maps, it tells me I have updates available. I only have two maps on my device, Ireland and the UK, as I won't be driving anywhere in Europe.

When I tap Ireland or the United Kingdom, nothing happens. However, when I go to Updates and New Items, it tells me the TomTom is up-to date. This up to date message also shows when I log in to my account on my PC.

Which "TomTom50" have you got? There are two different generations with "Start 50", and then there's the "GO 50".
Let us know the first two characters of your serial number.

Nav2 Start 50 = GU, GZ
Nav4 GO 50 = VF, VH, VI, VX
Nav4 Start 50 = VG, VJ, VR

Then we'll know what method you are using for updates, and what kind of maps (classic vs NDS) maps you're getting. I suspect that you have a Nav4, and that the other update is for a country whose map you have previously deleted from your device.

I've seen this condition cleared by using the 'reset' feature of the map management system, but its availability depends upon which device you actually have there. See if your menu system gives you the option:

Main Menu / Settings / System / Reset map

You will want to be SURE you've got your device hooked up to mains power and a good WiFi connection when you perform the map reset.

Hi, apologies, I never updated my TomTom details (I now have), I have purchased the TomTom Go Superior 6, and the first two letters of the serial number are B3

Your Superior should also have "Reset map" capability.
Give that a try and see if the extraneous download suggestion goes away afterward.

Hi, thanks once again for your advice, the query I had re updates has mysteriously been resolved. I tapped the update and this time the map for the UK updated.
