Since it apparently runs fine off the power source in the house, I'd guess you have a battery that's a bit flat and a charging issue from the supply in the truck. I'd start looking there.TomTom Go works fine in our house connecting to wifi but stopped working this month in the truck. The drumming sounds and sometimes the map appears briefly but then the screen goes black and the drumming begins again.
Vehicle USB data sockets are typically only capable of delivering 500mA of current. Your device requires more than that to operate with the screen at normal brightness, much less charge the battery at the same time.We've used the USB sockets for several years but I'll give the cigarette lighter socket a try.
