After some years, I renew my TomTom GO subscription. At this time, I used Google Maps and AmiGO.
Here are my observations after the first week of using it:
1. AmiGO allows me to report a speedcam while I'm using it on Android Auto. I can't find this on TomTom GO. Why?
2. The speedcam sound is quite long (three beeps). Can this be changed to something shorter (and less annoying)? Maybe one beep?
3. Route bar on the right side (at least on Android Auto) doesn't show the arrival time. It looks this is a bug.
4. Route bar (on Android Auto) isn't available for clicking. At least on my car which uses a rotary button for navigation over an AA screen (similar to Mazda, BMW ...).
5. I would like to have icons/categories while searching for a destination (on Android Auto). The categories are shown while using an app on the phone, but not on the AA.
6. The black widget which shows the arrival time and distance while on the route is way too big (Android Auto). It unnecessarily covers a part lot of map.
7. The widget showing the next maneuver can have an additional (smaller?) widget showing the second maneuver. There are many times when the driver should make two maneuvers relatively fast and it would be helpful to prepare before.
8. It would be nice if the user could use voice for searching a destination on Android Auto.
9. Sharing location (with friends) would be nice. Location sharing is quite useful and often used between friends ...
10. A 3D relief map would be a nice improvement.
11. A weather condition on the route before would be nice. Even better, the precipitation radar would be super.
12. AmiGO shows speedcams even if the route isn't selected and I'm just driving. It would be nice if TomTom GO works the same. There are often times when TomTom GO is on AA screen without the route selected. AmiGO notifies for a speedcam, but TomTom GO doesn't.
13. TomTom GO doesn't remember the view from the previous session. It always starts with the "map view", even if I almost always use "guidance view (without routing). A "switch view" button is pressed (unnecessary) every time I enter the car.
Your suggestions/comments are welcome.
