I have a new TOMTOM 730. I downloaded the maps. It tells me the maps are on C drive with a price of $69. I thought the maps update is free for 3 months. What to do??

When I go to switch maps there are two maps with the same name. Depending on which I choose some POI became unavailable. I saved some on SD card. How to resolve???

Thanks
Salman

You are entitled to ONE map update using the Latest Map guarantee within 30 days (not 3 months) of first use.

Tap the satellite bars on your unit. The next screen shows the APPLICATION version installed (The latest is 8.351). Now, tap the version number and the next screen shows the map installed. The latest is 830. That's what you are entitled to.

Thanks

I have 800. something on my TOMTOM and 830 on my SD card. How can I get that of my SD card into TOMTOM device.

Thanks

1. Make a complete Explorer backup of your internal unit's contents. Ensure hidden files/folders are selected.
2. Delete the entire NA_2GB folder from the UNIT, NOT the card.
3. Copy the entire NA_2GB map folder from the card to the unit.
4. Delete the NA_2GB map folder from the card.

Or..............

After step 2 above, just leave the entire map folder on the card. TomTom's application will see it just fine. (I keep my NA map on a sdhc card).

Also, make sure you have the latest application (8.351).

I tried that. The system hung up. After resetting I inserted the SD card. Maps came back. Any other way to update device?
